Additional Skills

Electronic Description of Archives

Through my current Electronic Description of Archives course, I have learned how to create finding aids and authority files in EAD, EAC, and MARC. I have also studied archival content standards, including DACS and ISAD(G), and descriptive standards such as LCSH.

Reference Services

One of my major tasks as Graduate Assistant at the Albert Gore Research Center is to assist researchers. I conduct initial interviews about their needs, help orient them to our policies and finding aids, and then provide physical access to materials.

PastPerfect

Serving as an Image Curator for the "Life at Wynnewood" exhibit project, I created accession records about the images in PastPerfect.

Photoshop

I learned the basics of the Photoshop software during a workshop in my Essentials of Museum Management class. I used these skills to re-size images for the "Life at Wynnewood" exhibit project and the Hutchinson Family Singers web exhibit.

Classroom Instruction

I served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Dr. Pippa Holloway's History 2020 Survey of U.S. History II course. I was responsible for teaching two weekly discussion sections, which included lectures, book discussions, and administering tests. I also graded assignments for my seventy students.

Business Proposal

During my internship with the Coca-Cola Company, I worked on a group project with the other Global Public Affairs and Communications interns. We created business recommendations and officially presented our proposal to company executives. I provided historical context about what the company had previously done for the project.
